If you are looking for a fantastic new fantasy series that you may not have heard of, look no further than The Paladin Trilogy by Daniel M. Ford.

From a small publishing company, this book is easiest to find on Audible—I have not been able to find any printed copies (and not for a lack of trying).

Ordination, the first book in the series, introduces us to Allystaire Coldbourne, a cold, brooding, and ugly former knight, just as he decides to abandon his lord and leave his whole life behind him.

We follow Allystaire as he tries to reconcile the death he has wrought in his many years of war, and we grow to see him become a Paladin—a true knight in shining armor—on behalf of a recently awakened goddess, The Mother.

As the series progresses, Allystaire joins several others, also ordained by The Mother, to end the wars that have been ravaging the Baronies for generations, and to stop rival deity Braech, the Sea-Dragon.

Without a doubt, this series is easily one of the best high-fantasy stories I have picked up. All three books have a hearty cast of characters and a healthy combination of war, politics, theology, romance, friendship, magic, mythos, and lore. Daniel M. Ford has done a phenomenal job with this series.

Hi there! Thanks for your kind words about Paladin. If you’re having trouble tracking down print copies, I could probably help. Amazon always has them in stock but if you’re reluctant to shop there I understand. Reach out to me on twitter if that’s the case…or if you’d like signed copies.
